And here is my Great Dane Satchi standing on the sofa looking out of the living room window and waiting for someone to come and visit him. Yes, it is tough on the sofa and I usually ask him nicely to get off the damn furniture. The sofa is a plushy but bashed-up Italian white linen covered in washable hard-wearing dog-proof bull denim. The curtain looks that way because he yanked it down by accident the other day. Sofas and beds feature largely in Satchi’s life. He will be two years old at the beginning of April and is the most cheerful, sociable and sweet-natured dog I have ever known.
