How good to find Pam at 20 years sober, Mary-Christine and Lou all posting again. Every now and then I go searching for those who were posting when I first began back in 2007. I know they are out there leading full, happy and productive lives but I still hope they are secretly itching to come back and blog again. I love the recovery blogging community.
Snips and snails and puppydog tails. No pics of my new pup are possible because I don’t have a camera or the kind of cell phone that lets me do happy snapshots. The image above taken from Google is the closest I could get to the sublime ugliness of my little Great Dane at six weeks – he isn’t brindle but that squinty mean-eyed scowl is about right. I am nearly as besotted as the housemate and my small female dogs have begun to play with him, in a condescending manner. The house smells like a kennel.

I am having trouble imagining dogs acting condescending. Not that I know anything about dogs.
My two little female dogs don’t think much of the new puppy. But only humans condescend.
Glad that you are having fun with the new puppy. They are wonderful little beings who love us so much. Enjoy the baby time. They grow up so fast.
Thanks Syd — I know you are mourning your own dog right now — and the time flies as they grow up. Their lives are always too short.
Thanks for the welcome back. You are one of the handful of bloggers I never really left
How nice to have a new love. One that won’t break your heart.
Well, a puppy doesn’t turn around and tell you he is married or about to leave you for a curvacious new owner! But there will be heartbreak at some point. As well as joy.
I am so glad to see you posting again.
Darling…your house IS a kennel now. LMAO!
You’re right!
The new puppy is gorgeous!!! I love brindle dogs!
Thanks Gabrielle, I miss reading you. The new pup isn’t brindle, more of a charcoal colour but very sweet.
Well, I think he’s just gorgeous. He is a great addition to your home and will be a super companion for you. I love big dogs because I tend to live a somewhat solitary life and they feel most like another full grown entity in the home. Plus, I love to go for long walks and large breeds require a lot of exercise.
Ozwald, my OES, has adapted well to his daily routine although I often wonder if he would like another dog around for company when I’m at work. I do wish you had a camera. I would love to see the little guy grow.
